Frequently Asked Questions

The following is a list of questions and answers we have compiled. Thank you for your support! If you do not see your question here please contact us at info@groundedbrewingtechnologies.com

1. What makes our control panels different from the others?

Besides the price tag...

our panels use all DIN rail components including the heavy duty 63a contactors for the main power and heating elements rather than relays.

Think of a contactor as a much more heavy duty relay. We also use a din rail breaker system in all of our panels for added protection.

There are 3 - 1.5" long 1/2" NPT liquid tight 304 stainless steel temperature probes included with the 2 element 30a and 50a panels and 1 probe included with the smaller 30a BIAB panel.

Next, the 1 alarm switch accomplishes what 4 on the other guys do by being able to set temperature alarms on the pids as well as for the timer SIMULTANEOUSLY. each pid will indicate when it is triggering the alarm.

all of our enclosures are nema rated 304 stainless steel.

All of our panels are beautifully designed with permanent labeling rather than adhesive backed labels.

Our Omron E5cc pids have beautiful led displays giving them a much cleaner look rather than a harsh mechanical look.

all of our panels are ready to go right out of the box, just plug in with the included power cord and turn on.

2. Do you sale kits or only pre-assembled control panels?

We may in the future offer kits for customers really interested in ASSEMBLING one themselves, but we intentionally priced them below the other kit and pre-assembled panels on the market in order to remove the need for a kit.

3. How do you recommend fastening the panel to a wall?

For masonry walls we recommend using sleeve anchors found (here). These are commonly used in the electrical industry to attach large conduit and panels to masonry walls.

For stud walls we recommend cutting a 3/4" piece of plywood at least 18" wide and at least 18" to 20" tall to attach with lag screws found (here). In the location you want to install the panel, locate the studs and make sure all 4 corners of the plywood is fastened into the studs. Once this is installed then you can use shorter lag screws to attach the panel to the plywood.

If wanting to attach to a flat screen television mount, then you will need to follow the manufacturers specifications for attaching to the wall and then just attach the panel. We recommend purchasing this mount (here). This mount set on this setting (here) will allow you to attach our 30a 2 element panel (not including pro panel) via the installed wall mount hardware.

4. Do your control panels include wall mounting hardware?

Yes, and all 30a 1 element biab panels are shipped with the wall mount hardware installed. Other panels are shipped with the wall mount hardware packed.

5. Where are your control panels made?

All of our panels are hand crafted in house located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

6. Why go electric?

With electric brewing there is no more lugging EQUIPMENT around on brew day, just simply turn on the keyed switch to power on the panel and begin brewing.

No more standing out in the cold on brew days as well using propane or gas burners. Electric breweries can be placed in the comfort of your home.

Using one of our control panels you can really dial in your recipes to brew repeatable batches.

No more running out of propane in the middle of your brew day or making special trips to get tanks filled.

There is a lot of waste heat (about 75%) produced when using propane and natural gas. With electric brewing almost 100% of the power is going into heating your liquid.

Brewing a 10 gallon batch with electricity only costs about $1.50 t0 $2.00 for the entire batch vs. $6.00 to $7.00 of using propane.

PId manual can be found under each product's description page as well as here.
